COVID-19 Response

To our valued clients and community,

With a strong sense of caution and care, following recommendations from the World Health Organization and Ministry of Health regarding COVID-19, our team at Elizabeth Fry Society is continuing to work off site, with a limited number of staff in office.

Our first and utmost priority is to keep our clients and community safe as a collective. Social distancing and the wearing of masks is currently required in the effort to do so. While we are providing ongoing remote support for survivors, please call us at 250-763-4613. All voicemails will be responded to within 24 hrs. For our current clients, please be assured that your case worker will still be supporting you by phone and email. If you require immediate help, please call 911 or VictimLink at 1-800-563-0808.

Thank you. We appreciate everyone working together to ensure that our community stays safe & healthy during times of uncertainty. In the midst of this difficult time, we ask you to be kind & vigilant in looking out for your neighbours, colleagues and community members whose safety may be at risk.

The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies

Is an association of self-governing, community-based Elizabeth Fry Societies that work with and for woman and girls in the justice system.

We envision a community in which all are safe, equal and empowered.

The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society (COEFS) is a feminist organization that is dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence, providing support services, and advocating for survivors who move through the court system in the Central Okanagan Valley. COEFS achieves this purpose through prevention and intervention services in collaboration with community partners.

To support and empower survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, exploitation and violence.

The Elizabeth Fry Society was established in BC more than 70 years ago. It was built upon the legacy of Elizabeth Fry (1780-1845), a social reformer who dedicated her life to the economic security, justice and legal rights of women and children.

“We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.”

Our mission is to bring about an end to violence, eliminate poverty and seek justice for women & children here in our community – the Central Okanagan Valley. We do this through raising awareness of our cause, engaging in activism and by raising funds for the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society to support the services it offers women & children in our community.
Your donation can make a huge difference to survivors of abuse. Thank you for your generosity!
