Sponsorship Success Stories

Below are some stories of amazing people/organizations that assisted The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society to allow us to further assist individuals to achieve their full potential. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generous donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events dedicated to our organization. This allows our Organization to continue reaching more victims in our community.

We would like to thank The First West Foundation for their generous donation of $10,000! This was provided to The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society through the 2019 Valley First Community Endowment Grant. This grant will allow for our Girls United and Tough Guise Programs to continue reaching more adolescents in our community! This will change lives and allow us to continue inspiring our next generation. Thank you First West Foundation for your kindness and for supporting your community!

Jays and Arrows ran their own fundraiser for our organization called the ’99 Red Ballons Tattoo Marathon’. This fundraiser took place on March 9th (International Women’s Day) and 99% of proceeds went directly to the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society. Four tattoo artists worked from 9am-9pm tattooing red balloons on willing participants for $99 each. Also, they were accepting donations from anyone willing to donate, if they did not want to be tattooed.

The ’99 Red Ballons Tattoo Marathon’ fundraiser helped us raise over $10,000!!!!!!! We are forever thankful for the generosity of the staff at Jays and Arrows!

One of our in-house fundraising events was the Chocoholic Frolic for Easter, this event helped us raise over $3000!

Although, we couldn’t of done this without our stunning sponsor the Rotary Club of Kelowna. This was an amazing event that brought families together for the purpose of a 5km walk/run to celebrate Easter. This event took place on April 14, 2019 and it included a bunny ears, tutus, and of course chocolate!!!!

Our Executive Director spoke at an event in January, 2019 hosted by 100+ Women Who Care a non-profit organization devoted to fundraising for non-profit organizations.

100+ Women Who Care donated $6500 to the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society, this is a huge feat! Thank you so much to 100+ Women Who Care and all of those that attended!

Also, we have four separate individuals that used Facebook Birthday Fundraisers dedicated to the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society equating to over $2500!!! We thank you so much and we thank all of our sponsors/donors. Whether you decide to donate $5 or $5000, the effect of positively impacting survivors lives is priceless. We thank your generosity and look forward to further fundraising opportunities so that we can continue to reach more and more victims and make a positive impact in their lives. To provide you with an idea of what your donation can provide, below is a list of donation options that can make a large impact for survivors:

  • $10 will help with snacks or journals for groups
  • $25 will pay for snacks for one group session
  • $75 will pay for one trauma counselling session

Provincial and Federal grants can only take our organization so far. The rest relies on our amazing community members to ensure that the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society can continue to grow and to broaden our horizons in relation to the community of Kelowna, and the Central Okanagan region.
